About Mill City Hall
Mill City Hall is a podcast that covers Minneapolis politics, city government, and the policy ideas that can make life better - or worse - for regular folks. We lean on decades of experience inside and outside of local government in order to bring clarity to the process of making change in our city.
(Mill City is an old nickname for Minneapolis)
Our goal is to offer an independent progerssive perspective that is hopeful and critical. Folks deserve to know what works and what doesn't, without the pieties and shibboleths. We believe deeply in participatory democracy and the power of individual agency and responsibility.
So much of "politics" is wrapped up in reactive partisan identity, and waiting for Team Blue or Team Red to save us in the next election. At the local level you can impact our community life directly. The battle lines can be a little less clear, and there is still plenty of bullshit: but that's where we aim to help.
